The beginning of October in Herceg Novi will be marked by the 10th anniversary edition of the International Choir Festival, taking place from October 2nd to 5th, organized by the NGO “Montenegrin Choral Association.” This important cultural event will bring together 29 choirs from Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, with around 900 participants.
We are especially pleased to welcome choral groups from Serbia and Slovakia, with whom we share a strong cultural connection and a mutual passion for choral art.
The competition segment of the festival will be held on 3. October 3rd and 4th at the Church of St. Jerome, while the grand opening is scheduled for Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 PM at the Kanli Tower (or at the “Park” Hall in case of bad weather).
On Saturday, October 4th, alongside the continuation of the competition, a public showcase will be held at Nikola Đurković Square from 10:30 AM, featuring performances by participating choirs. That same evening, the awards ceremony and celebration will take place at the amphitheater of the “Park” Hall, with music and a cocktail reception for all participants.
The festival will conclude on Sunday, October 5th, with a traditional sacred music concert at the Church of St. Jerome, starting at 11:00 AM.
The festival is supported by the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Ministry of Culture and Media, with strategic partner JUK Herceg Fest and other collaborators.
