If there’s a time when Herceg Novi truly reveals its most enchanting side, it’s right now. The days are filled with the scent of the sea and pine trees, and as the sun slips behind the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, the town takes on a completely different rhythm. Historic fortresses come alive with music, lively squares fill with people, and every evening offers a new reason to stay out just a little longer.
Already underway is the 43rd Days of Music Festival, one of Montenegro’s most prestigious classical music events, bringing outstanding local and international performers to some of the town’s most beautiful venues over the coming weeks. At the same time, the 13th Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival is inviting opera and performing arts enthusiasts to enjoy unforgettable open-air productions in a truly spectacular setting.
Those looking for a different musical vibe can head to Kanli Kula Fortress, where the Roots Revival Reggae Festival transforms warm Mediterranean nights into a celebration of rhythm and positive energy. On 20 July, Portonovi will welcome the internationally acclaimed choir Perpetuum Jazzile, while on 22 July, the magical atmosphere of Kanli Kula will provide the perfect backdrop for a concert by Božo Vrećo, one of the region’s most distinctive performers. Later in the week, Vlado Georgiev will take the stage for two highly anticipated concerts that traditionally draw thousands of visitors.
So, after a day spent on the beach or wandering through the charming streets of the Old Town, don’t rush back to your room. That’s when Herceg Novi begins to tell its most beautiful story—one filled with music, art, the scent of the sea, and unforgettable summer evenings that stay with you long after your holiday has ended.
